Illinois Performance Excellence (ILPEx) announced today that St. Elizabeth’s Hospital was one of only three recipients of the 2013 Bronze Award for “Commitment to Excellence” in this statewide quality program which follows the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. This award is given to organizations, throughout the state of Illinois, who adopt and demonstrate continuous improvement practices in an on-going journey toward excellence.
St. Elizabeth’s partners with Walgreens Pharmacy for Free Bedside Prescription Delivery

St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Walgreens have recently partnered to help make each patient’s discharge from the hospital more convenient with the Walgreens Bedside Prescription Delivery program. This new partnership gives patients the option to receive their filled prescriptions before they are discharged from the hospital, at their bedside, to eliminate the need for an additional stop at the pharmacy on their way home to recuperate.
Friends of St. Elizabeth's Hospital raise over $228,000 at Elizabethan event

On Friday, November 1, more than $228,000 was raised as over 250 people gathered at St. Clair Country Club to celebrate the annual Elizabethan Gala Fundraiser. The Elizabethan has become a traditional fall event for many members of the community, featuring an evening of fellowship and fundraising accompanied by dinner, music and celebrations.
St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Wound Care Center now open in new location with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to our specialized Wound Care Center, which began seeing patients in a new location on October 28. The new center is now located on the first floor of the main hospital at 211 South Third Street, Belleville, (formerly Therapy Services). The newly remodeled location currently houses two Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers, which will be used to improve healing in problematic wounds.

State board approves collaborative inpatient Behavioral Health Services project

St. Elizabeth’s Hospital (SEB) and Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) today received approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board for each of their Certificate of Need (CON) applications. The CONs will allow Touchette to create a Regional Mental Health Center of Excellence while St. Elizabeth’s transitions from providing inpatient Behavioral Health Services (BHS).
