(Belleville, IL) – Recently, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital awarded Emily Connell, a Registered Nurse from the Intensive Care Unit, the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's nationwide program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. St. Elizabeth's introduced participation in the nationally recognized DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing in May 2015.

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Hosts Blessing and Ribbon Cutting of HSHS Rescue Flight

Belleville, IL – The brisk winter air last week couldn’t trump the excitement of the blessing and ribbon cutting for the HSHS Rescue Flight helicopter. HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital presented the event to approximately 50 people, who were able to learn about the new services, meet members of the flight crew and see the helicopter on St. Elizabeth’s helipad.

Belleville, IL – HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), is hosting a Heart Health Awareness month blood drive on Tuesday, February 23, in the Millennium Room from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Convenient parking is available just outside the Southern Illinois Heart Institute building at 340 West Lincoln Street (the back of the hospital).
HSHS Rescue Flight Begins Helicopter Service throughout Southwestern Illinois Region

HSHS Southern Illinois Division is pleased to announce the launch of HSHS Rescue Flight, the new helicopter serving HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Belleville, HSHS St. Joseph’s Highland, and HSHS St. Joseph’s Breese. Service began last Thursday, January 21. Ribbon cutting events will be held the week of February 8th at each of the three hospitals served.

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Now Offers 3D Mammograms

Belleville, IL – In order to continue to detect breast cancer at the earliest possible stage in our patients, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital recently invested over $400,000 to expand the current mammography services with advanced 3D mammography. The advanced mammogram equipment was installed in November and is now available to patients.
