Help Save a Life, Donate Blood June 21

(Belleville, IL) – HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in conjunction with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, June 21 in the Millennium Room from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Convenient parking is available just outside the Prairie Heart Institute Building (Bldg. A) at 340 West Lincoln Street (the back of the hospital).

Free CEU Program on Airway Clearance Offered June 7

As a service to area health care professionals, especially Case Management and Respiratory practitioners, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is offering an educational seminar on Airway Clearance on Tuesday, June 7 at 8:00 a.m. in the Millennium Room of the hospital, 340 West Lincoln Street, Belleville. (Belleville, IL) – Recently, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital awarded Chelsea Watson, a Registered Nurse from the Float Pool, the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's nationwide program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

Open House and Demonstration of New da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, May 16

In April 2016, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital installed the da Vinci Xi Surgical System, a robotic technology used for minimally invasive procedures. An Open House and Demonstration event is scheduled for Monday, May 16 from 3-6pm in the Centennial Room at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. The public is welcome to see the robotic surgery system in action and hear from the highly-skilled surgeons who will be performing the complex procedures with the robot.

Photo submissions requested for display at new hospital facility

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is building a new, state of the art hospital to provide high-quality health care to the patients of the Southwestern Illinois Region. The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2017. Once the new facility is open, the hospital hopes to have beautiful, healing artwork adorn the walls. In order to involve the community in this process, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is asking that all photographers (professional and amateur alike) submit digital photographs to contribute to the new building’s aesthetic quality. Once photos are choses, they will be transformed into gallery wraps in order to maintain a common theme throughout the facility.
