Imaging & Radiology

St. Elizabeth's offers a full spectrum of imaging services ranging from the simplest ultrasound images to the most complicated and high-tech computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine. The Imaging department is committed to providing our customers with exceptional service through digital radiography. Digital radiography provides high-quality computer-generated images that are sent directly to the Picture Archival Communication System (PACS) and quickly available for review by physicians. Patients experience shorter exam times and decreased radiation dose with digital imaging when compared to convention film imaging.

The PACS combines all the diagnostic images and related reports created at the hospital and its satellite facility in O’Fallon. Images are stored in one database that is accessible to our physicians, whenever and wherever it is needed. This means that your physician has a complete picture of your medical history in minutes.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE:   As of March 31, the Imaging services at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Arts Building, 180 S. Third Street in Belleville, will be closed for construction. We are making space improvements and preparing for the installation of brand new, state-of-the-art equipment including a Quantum Carestream Digital Radiographic (DR) unit and 3D Hologic Mammography unit with brest tomosynthesis system.
During construction downtime, patients can still be seen at the main hospital campus, just across the street.  Our new Central Registration location is positioned conveniently at the entrance to hospital from garage. Plus, FREE parking in garage.
We thank you for your patience as we continue to invest in the Belleville Health Campus to continue to provide high quality, region leading care. Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2017.
