Committee Coordinators


Heide LindDr. Heide Lind, Medical Pathologist, 2015 Chairman and Cancer Registry Quality Coordinator

Dr. Lind monitors the quality of the cancer registry data and report findings to the committee. This member will also monitor and recommend corrective action if activity in the registry falls below goals or requirements.

Dr. Lind is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. She received her medical degree from University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Lind began practicing at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital approximately ten years ago after joining with the Premier Pathology Services, LLC. She is an active member on several committees at the hospital and is a champion for the accreditation team.

Dr. WalshauserDr. Mark Walshauser, Medical Oncologist/Hematologist, Clinical Research Coordinator and Cancer Liaison Physician

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, Dr. Walshauser is responsible for tracking patients enrolled in clinical trials from within the program and/or patients referred for enrollment in clinical trials at other facilities or physician offices.

Additionally as a Cancer Liaison Physician, Dr. Walshauser is responsible for evaluating, interpreting, and reporting the cancer program’s performance using National Cancer Data base data. Dr. Walshauser also reports this analysis to the cancer committee throughout the year. This activity provides direction for the program and ensures that we are focused on providing quality cancer care.

Dr. Walshauser began practicing at St. Elizabeth’s in 2014 after joining Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois. His office is located in Swansea at 13 Wolf Creek Drive, Suite 1. Dr. Walshauser also sees patients at Sparta Community Hospital on Tuesdays as part of their specialty services clinic.

Dr. FloydDr. Justin Floyd, Medical Oncologist/Hematologist, Quality Improvement Coordinator

Each year the committee develops and analyzes portions of the program to ensure quality care and outcomes for our patients. As a coordinator in this position, Dr. Floyd is responsible for evaluating these studies and recommending the necessary improvements.

Dr. Floyd began practicing at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in 2015 after joining Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois. His office is located in Swansea at 13 Wolf Creek Drive, Suite 1. Dr. Floyd also sees patients in Chester at the Memorial Hospital Oncology Clinic.

Dr. KeysDr. Daniel R. Keys, Diagnostic Radiologist, Quality Improvement Coordinator

Each year the committee develops and analyzes portions of the program to ensure quality care and outcomes for our patients. As a coordinator in this position, Dr. Keys is responsible for evaluating these studies and recommending the necessary improvements.is our diagnostic radiologist on the Committee.

Dr. Keys began seeing patients at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in 2009 when he joined the Radiology Consultants of Mid-America, P.C. Diagnostic Radiology includes CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology.



Jami StoneJami Stone, CTR, Cancer Conference Coordinator

Cancer conferences, also known as Tumor Board Conferences, provide a forum to formalize the disease stage of cases being presented.

Jami is the Cancer Registrar for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She started in the cancer registry field eight years ago while working in Health Information at St. Anthony’s in Effingham. In January 2015, she began working for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and received a CTR in July 2015.





Rita GassmannRita Gassmann, LCSW, MSW, Psychosocial Services Coordinator

In the Psychosocial Service Coordinator role, Rita builds relationships and works with the established departments within the hospital or community to provide, improve, and expand the of psychosocial services for our patients.

Rita is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Care Coordination Department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Rita completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia in Columbia, Missouri. She has frequent meetings with the oncology patients in order to establish a link between hospital and home care. Rita has been very successful in connecting our patients with area resources and intervening to meet the psychosocial needs of our oncology patients.

Tom Dibadj, PT, Therapy Services

Tom is working with the Cancer Committee to expand therapy services to our oncology patient population.Tom has been with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for 21 years and is currently Director of the Rehabilitation Unit. He received his Master’s in Physical Therapy from Duke University as has years of experience in both inpatient and Outpatient physical therapy.

Linda Harre, RN, Oncology Nurse Navigator

Linda has been with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital since 2014. She has been an RN for 36 years and has a diploma from Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree from Chamberlain College.

Dr. Susan Laduzinsky, Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Laduzinsky has 28 years of experience and is affiliated with five of our local hospitals. Her practice is located at 4000 North Illinois at the Cancer Treatment Center.

Sheena Langhauser, MSW, LSW, HSHS Home Care

Sheena is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Illinois. She obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Prior to joining HSHS Home Care in 2015, Sheena had gained experience in a range of medical social work roles, including pediatric palliative care, adult inpatient hospital care, and insurance case management. In addition to her role with patients enrolled in HSHS Home Care, Sheena serves as a support and referral source for oncology patients in the outpatient setting.

Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez, Medical Oncologist

Dr. Rodriguez began practicing at St. Elizabeth’s in 1987, after joining Illinois Oncology, Ltd. His office is located in Swansea at 4000 N. Illinois St. Suite C. Dr. Rodriguez also sees patients at satellite offices in Breese and Maryville.





Dr. Bernard Szopa, General Surgeon

Dr. Szopa began practicing at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in 2005 after joining Lincoln Surgical Associates, Ltd.

Linda Schulz, American Cancer Society Representative

Linda serves as a liaison from the American Cancer Society to health care organizations, working to improve cancer outcomes and ultimately realize a world free from the pain and suffering of cancer.

Linda received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Arizona. She spent 32 years working for Adventist Health in Northern California, 20 of those years with the Lifestyle Medicine Program before moving to Community Outreach and Communications. Linda joined the American Cancer Society team as a Health Systems Manager in November of 2013.information, research and clinical trails.
