THIS MESSAGE WAS APPROVED BY THE INCIDENT COMMANDER, DONNA MEYER.

Sighs of relief, smiles, hugs and some tears were found as the last patient left the doors of St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. A special thank you to the EMS providers, Scott Air Force Base personnel, students, physicians, and all colleagues who assisted us today.   The transfer of 56 patients, which began at 0500, was completed at 0848.  We now move forward as we carry the torch of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis into our bright future.

Approved by Tim Claxton, Incident Command – Belleville

Closing in on our final countdown…10 patients to be transferred, and all other patients safely settled into their new private rooms in O’Fallon.

-Approved by Donna Meyers, Incident Commander – O’Fallon

Due to the large scale coordination and use of several entry points for patient transport, we are allowing only patients’ family members access into the new hospital at this time.  All others are welcome after noon today. Thank you for your cooperation and respecting our patients' privacy. Tomorrow, we will return to normal visiting hours.

Approved by Tim Claxton, Incident Command – Belleville

11/3  |  The hours are counting down! We cannot wait for this historic transition to our new state-of-the-art facility in O'Fallon. St. Elizabeth's remains dedicated to Belleville and will be keeping several outpatient services and many hospital colleagues there. Eighty percent of health care services are now delivered in an outpatient setting so we have re-envisioned the Belleville campus to provide the most often used services such as imaging and lab with additional access to primary care and walk-in services. 11/2  |  On November 4, beginning at 4 a.m., the Belleville hospital campus will be officially closed to patients, including the Emergency Room. If you have a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately. After 4 a.m. on November 4, the new hospital campus will be located at One St. Elizabeth's Boulevard, O'Fallon, IL  | Google Map

11/1  |  General Public Visitors: We appreciate the public’s excitement and curiosity to see the new hospital but we will be restricting public access on the Move Day of November 4 to only identified family/support persons of our transferring patients. This is to ensure the privacy and safety of our patients. As we will be a functioning hospital every day after November 4, and we plan to be the health and wellness destination for the region for decades to come, we encourage you to visit our campus in the future. Be sure to visit our Gift Shop, Coffee Shop, Cafeteria, outdoor walking path and Chapel. We, of course, would be honored to be the health care provider of choice for you and your family.

10/31 | On Saturday, November 4, 2017, all of the patients from HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital will be moved to our new state-of-the-art facility in O'Fallon, Illinois. Our name is not changing nor is our Mission "To reveal and embody Christ's healing love for all people through our high quality Franciscan health care ministry."

We are very pleased to have you share in this historic transition to our new hospital. This is the next chapter in our journey to offering you, our patients, the highest quality care in a comfortable and healing setting.  Read More
